Well for all of you good folks waiting for my news..........we got a referral today for a baby girl!
We will have the medical information reviewed by an International Pediatric specialist early next week before we officially accept.
To be honest I am still a bit in shock so forgive my lack of bubbling over for now. It will come though I am sure.
A couple of things about the little one for now.........she was born in Guatemala City on August 20th. She weighed 6lbs 6oz.
For those of you who know me and my most lovely friend, Charmie, then you will also know that her dear son just turned one year old.............on August 20th. How is that for ironic? Our babies may just share the very same birthday!!

IT WAS MEANT TO BE that you had this little girl. Who would have thought when we meet years and years ago we would share the same infertility diagnosis, the same issues, and in the end chose adoption to make our families. AND THEN HAVING OUR CHILDREN, OUR BEAUTIFUL ADOPTED CHILDREN BORN ON THE VERY SAME DATE? Meant to be. Mom....ya, I'm talking to you!

Mommy!! You are a mommy! Congratulations Karen! This is so wonderful! How cool that she shares Mac's birthday! She and Jack will be just over a month apart! We will have to get them together for a play date someday (while we enjoy rum runners by the pool!) I am so thrilled for you and Steve and will keep you in my prayers that everything goes smoothly. Yay!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am SO happy for you guys!! I have been keeping up with the proposed law changes because we are thinking of adopting again, and hopefully you will be okay. It takes them forever to changes things, and they are always trying. If it makes you feel any better, a new, even worse, law was proposed right after we got our referral in 2004 and it never took place. I think it was voted unconstitutional after the three votes, and I'm sure they would propably try that again if the new law were to pass. Do I know who your attorney is? Does it start with a Z?
Anyways, I'm sure the attorneys are working fast and taking good care of things during this confusing time. Hang in there and let me know if you need to talk. Congratulations!!! Carrie
