I can't remember if I mentioned this before or not - when we got the last update from our agency on little frijolito it was a report written by the agency's worker in Guatemala. She visits all the baby's monthly and takes pictures, writes a report, etc. On the first report we got it stated that little frijolito was being fostered with her cousin. We even got a picture of them together. I thought it was pretty amazing that she was actually with her cousin!
I posted on the Guatemala thread of the adoption forums to find out if anyone was adopting a little boy by his name. No response. I was planning to ask the agency if I could get information on the parents adopting the little boy but I was waiting until we were a bit further along.
Today I was reading the "big list" which is a list serv for Guatemala adoption. There were several replies going back and forth about the agency we are using. I was reading along and saw a post from a lady that said she is currently using this agency and having no problems at all, and that their foster mom was the same age as our foster mom, and was also a retired nurse. I thought to myself a little too coincidental.......this must be who is adopting the cousin!
So I emailed her and sure enough - it is! I have found who is adopting frijolito's little male cousin! She was thrilled to find us too, she had told the agency that she would like contact with the adoptive family of the little girl but they hadn't told me that yet. We have a lot of things in common too - very ironic things.
They also received an update Friday (NO WE DIDN'T GET ONE YET.........ARGH) and she emailed me 2 pictures of their little L and our little M was in the background looking as cute as she could be.
They are a little ahead of us since we had the whole POA fiasco. I hope we can catch up though so maybe we can do our pick up trip together. They live pretty far from us so there won't be daily lunches or anything but at least we will have contact with them......and just maybe (hopefully) our little girl and their little boy will be able to know their very own biological cousin. Isn't that cool?

THAT IS AMAZING, KAREN!!! And I will venture to say that it was NO COINCIDENCE!! One of those things that was planned from the start...
That will be an AMAZING gift to her to have a biological cousin in her life. And to him as well. This is so exciting!!
CAN'T WAIT to hear an update on the little angel!!

Wow, that is just awesome! Your kids are going to be so psyched to know each other growing up.

Karen,
That is so cool. M will be thrilled to get to know her cousin. I agree with Tammy - its not a coincidence.

Wow, that is so wonderful! That might be a very special bond someday thanks to you being so smart and persistant! Good for you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an update for you soon. Call Susanna repeatedly. Until you think she must hate you. It's the only way to make sure she doesn't forget sometimes. I have an offer, but think I will send you an e-mail.
Happy Anniversary, too!

Me again. Kevin will pick you up at noon. I just can't go. I would suggest taking that vacation (money, I know) and doing everything you want to now because everything will change soon! I should have done more before she came home. It just goes to show you that time spent worrying and waiting can be put to better use. Hmph.

That is really great and how lucky you are to have located the parents.
I know that Gabe has a bio sibling (whether half or full, I'm not sure). My impression from the Family Court report we received is that this sibling was adopted as well. I'm hoping to find him/her someday.

How wonderful you have made this familial connection here in the states. Good detective work!
